The Wolf Among Us 2: Another Delay Leaves Fans Disappointed
- 2 Mar 2023
It's been a long wait for fans of the acclaimed adventure game series The Wolf Among Us. After being announced in 2013, its highly anticipated sequel was initially slated to launch sometime this year. Unfortunately, Telltale Games have had to delay development yet again, meaning that the game likely won't be available until 2024 at the earliest.
The news comes as a major disappointment to both die-hard fans and newcomers alike. On the one hand, those who played and enjoyed the original are eager to jump back into its unique world full of mythological characters and gritty noir narratives. On the other hand, newcomers may find themselves left scratching their heads, wondering why it’s taken so long for them to get their hands on what is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
So why has The Wolf Among Us 2 been delayed yet again? According to Telltale Games’ official statement, it essentially has to do with wanting “to make sure [they] don’t crunch our teams or compromise quality for us…to deliver something special". Additionally, they mentioned that due to Unreal Engine 5 entering public preview soon, they would shift development towards using that engine instead of Unreal Engine 4, which was previously planned – something which will take more time than initially expected.
While delays are never good news, especially when it comes from a beloved studio like Telltale Games, there is some solace in knowing that they are putting the well-being of their staff first while also striving towards delivering an even better experience than before with UE5 running underneath it all – at least once we eventually get out hands on it!
In conclusion, The Wolf Among Us 2 has unfortunately suffered another delay pushing its release date out until next year at best – much later than anyone had hoped for or expected, given how long we've waited already! For now, though, all we can do is hope that by 2024 all our patients will have paid off, and we'll finally get our hands on what looks to be an outstanding follow-up from this critically acclaimed studio!
