Nightingale Soars into Early Access in February
- 22 Aug 2023
Inflexion Games announced that their forthcoming game, Nightingale, a "gaslamp fantasy", will be released for early access on February 22 during the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live event. The news of the launch date came along with the premiere of a new trailer that provides a glimpse into the game's Sun Giant, a rare apex creature in the Faewilds.
The early access release date is later than initially planned, according to a press release from the developers. However, they emphasized their commitment to delivering a quality game and prioritize their players' satisfaction. The company's CEO, past Bioware boss Aaryn Flynn, expressed the desire to meet the community’s expectations and described their role as pivotal in the game's development.
Flynn also expressed the company's aspiration for Nightingale to not only meet their vision for the game, but to also provide an enjoyable experience for their players, offering them a unique world to explore and share with their friends in the coming years.
Nightingale was initially projected for an early access release in 2022. However, it was subsequently postponed to the first half of 2023 and then again to the autumn. The decision to delay the release came after receiving player feedback from the game's playtests. The extra development time, according to the developer, would permit further enhancements and progress, without risking the wellbeing of their team.
The upcoming time will be used to improve gameplay elements such as crafting bench animations, tuning and pacing progression, and enhancing the mystical feel of the realms.
