For Xmas, Children Prefer Game Subscriptions And Virtual Currencies Over Actual Games

What do kids really want for Christmas this year? Based on a recent survey by the Entertainment Software Association in America, video games top the list. However, instead of wanting physical copies of games like Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Lego 2K Drive, or Hogwarts Legacy, it seems children have different preferences now.
According to the survey, video games remain popular amongst 10-17 year-olds, receiving 72% of votes (86% boys and 59% girls) as the top gift choice. Instead of tangible games, though, kids are looking forward to game subscriptions like Game Pass/GTA+ (39%) and virtual currencies like Show-Bucks/Vbucks (29%). Only 22% of children express interest in physical video games, ranking it in third place.
