Amazon Reinstates Mandatory Office Days for Employees

Amazon is making a significant policy change for its employees, requiring them to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. The decision was made by Amazon’s leadership team and announced in an email sent to staff by CEO Andy Jassy.
Previously, Amazon allowed its teams to decide their own in-office policies, including how often they should meet in person. In the email, Jassy noted that the company observed that it was easier to maintain its culture, collaborate on ideas, and learn from one another in person.
The new policy makes it clear that Amazon’s employees should come into the office a minimum of three days a week. The rest of the week can be spent working from home, making it a hybrid work model that allows the company to still reap the benefits of remote work, such as increased productivity and improved work-life balance.
In addition to the three-days-a-week policy, Jassy also noted that Amazon will prioritize the health and safety of its employees. The company will continue to follow health and safety protocols, such as enforcing social distancing, providing masks and sanitizing supplies, and regularly testing for the virus.
Overall, Amazon’s new policy requires its employees to come into the office a minimum of three days a week. The policy allows the company to maintain its culture while still allowing its employees to enjoy the benefits of remote work.
