Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to Receive “New Look” at Gamescom Opening Night Live
- 8/12/2024
At the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live, host Geoff Keighley revealed that fans can expect a fresh update on MachineGames' highly anticipated title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The specifics of this new reveal are yet to be disclosed, but speculation is building around a possible release date announcement following prevalent rumors suggesting a launch in December.
Set in 1937 and drawing inspiration from the beloved movie franchise (with the exception of the films released after The Last Crusade), the game has Indiana Jones caught up in a global mystery. The adventure will take him to diverse locations, including Egypt, Thailand, and the majestic Himalayas—as hinted during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, where a tense encounter in the Himalayas was shown.
While incorporating some cinematic cutscenes, the gameplay itself is primarily presented from a first-person perspective, inviting players to engage in stealth, wielding Indy’s iconic whip, and tackling various puzzles, with some being entirely optional. Notably, the game is designed to offer a more open-ended experience, prioritizing player choices over a strictly scripted plot.
Scheduled for release later this year, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be available on both Xbox Series X/S and PC.
